Effective June 26, unemployed Ohioans will no longer receive the extra $300 federal payment.  And from now on, the unemployed "must act upon any referral to suitable employment and must accept any offer of suitable employment" (Ohio Department of Job & Family Services).  This includes employees previously furloughed and now being recalled to work.

If you are an employer who has offered jobs to the unemployed and been refused, state law requires you to report these individuals online:  Eligibility/Refusal to Return to Work Form.  The ODJFS will then investigate whether the refusal was for good cause.  For more information, view the COVID-19 Return-to-Work Policy.

We wish you well in your hiring efforts and look forward to a prosperous summer.
